Panasonic tv question by DK: My panasonic projector tv is yellow at the bottom?
I just bought a 50in panasonic projection tv. And it fires right up. No problem. No codes go off on the board. And i have just had it cleaned internally. But i have a yellow haze at the bottom. What could it be. It’s nothing to do with the mirrors. I can see the yellow come out of the projection part. Don’t know if it could be my bulb or something else.

All speakers need two wires to work; positive and negative one.

One manufacturer blurp is to tell you this: always connect the positive wire to the postive output on the amplifier and the negative to the negative output on the amplifier respectively. But really, should you?

No! Not necessary! Its main purpose is to prevent ‘short circuiting’ the speaker and amplifier, which can result in explosion or fire.

That’s because as long one wire goes through the positive and the other negative output on the amplifier, the speaker and amplifier should work fine.

Important note though: make sure the speaker impedance is supported by the amplifier and that the speaker supports more than the maximum power supplied by the amplifier.

So, modern theatre speakers have clips so that the two wires seems to be one. Just cut the end of the wire, not so close to the clip so you can always ‘reconnect’ them in the future, snapped them and separate the two wires so you can easily connect later, and then cut off a small portion of the wire head to expose the internal wiring.

There you go. Your Samsung speakers should now be easily connected via 2-input/output wiring on the Onkyo amplifier.

Again. Make sure the Onkyo support the impedance of the Samsung speaker, cause many modern theatre speakers have super low impedance of 2-4ohms, which on amplifiers that support 8-12ohms, you could be firing up the amplifier with heat which will do permanent damage to it.

I was not able to test the Ethernet networking capability of this cable, but I think the idea behind it is a good one. For my current home entertainment setup, I had to set up separate Internet connections on my TV, set top box, Blu-Ray player, and WD TV LIVE (HTPC). It would have been a lot easier if I could have just set up my TV’s internet connection, and allow all of my components to share it. I hooked this braided HDMI cable between my HDTV and my computer to stream video from the internet to my HDTV. The picture is clear and the sound quality is very good. I don’t see any difference while using this cable from computer to HDTV than I do when watching TV directly from my satellite box. The only problem I have with this cable is that it is very thick due to the braiding, which makes it hard to turn. I need to plug it into one side of my HDTV, loop it around the back of the TV and bring it out on the other side where I place my computer out of tripping range. The thickness of the cable makes it hard to loop around and it’s heavier than the other cables I have. This cable would probably be best for professional use where there might be heavy usage and plugging and unplugging of the cord. It will probably stand the test of time and constant movement easier than the regular smooth vinyl cables. But, for normal home use, the vinyl cables are easier to handle. For anyone who has not used an HDMI cable and is new to HDTV, this cable can be used to hook up your cable box, DVD or Blu Ray disc player, computer, Wii, sound system and whatever else you have that has an HDMI cable connector. You do not need to use separate audio cables as this beauty steams everything through it. It’s super simple to use – just plug it in to your HDTV and plug the other end into the other component and play. I suggest getting HDMI cables for each separate component so you don’t have to pull out the DVD cable to plug in your computer. This is an excellent HDMI cable. I was skeptical seeing Amazon come out with their own cables, but these are very good quality. I would equate them to the higher end Belkin Pure AV line, which you can sometimes find at the best prices. These cables are even less than that! And the packaging is nice … no fussing with scissors and that super-sealed plastic that cables usually come in – just pop ‘em out and hook ‘em up! Great! LG television question by Stimey: What is wrong with my LG television?
I have an LG 47″ LED-LCD 1080p television and it has been great since June 2010. About 2 weeks ago it developed a white dashed line that runs down the middle of the tv vertically from top to bottom and a horizontal line that runs from side to side about an inch from the bottom of the screen.

What gives? I have not changed anything.
