Is It Possible To Switch On A Panasonic Tv (txl32v10b) Using The Timer Function?

I recently bought a panasonic lcd tv and thought, from reading the manual online before buying it, that I could use the timer to switch it on automatically in place of my alarm. The orange LED flickers during the timer period, so I guess that I’ve set it correctly, but the screen and sound stay off :-/
