How to jailbreak a Sharp Aquos HDTV with Internet access
If like me, you feel cheated by the “internet access” provided by your Sharp TV, this guide will help you get around the homepage lock – and on the actual internet. If nothing else, you’ll be able to access the TitanTV program guide, as well as go to and bookmark any website you want. I have to warn you that Netflix will not stream on the 52LE700UN model – and flash will not work either. Depending on the TV model you have, your results may vary. Rest assured that your experience will still be disappointing! Let me know how it works for you.

Sharp television question by zizzy: Why will my television remote only work during the day NEVER once at night.?
We just recently bought a Sharp HD television for a room we never used before. It is wall mounted above the fireplace in a room surrounded by windows. We have a Motorola cable box( HD reciever DVR )and remote. The remote only works during the day, after dusk it does not work. You can change the channel manually using the box at night. We had the cable company install a new box and remote Control and nothing changed. I could really use some help with this it is driving me nuts.

Its because of the lighting an probably from some mirrors maybe around your TV. This happened to my wii remote

@MrVondmortiis oh maldicion yo actualice el fimeware, y eh encontrado una manera de escribir una url, solo que no detecta el teclado usb y no despliega el teclado virtual. tu utilizas algun teclado usb para navegar????
@DecarkCain pues lo hice con el control remoto y tal cual dice el video tengo conexión wifi y no actualice el fimeware. despues de que resulto igual que el video he actualizado el firmware 2 veces y no se a modificado nada quedo de maravilla

My model is a bit different so I guess that may be why it did not work.
@CLarose I can’t exactly recall what I did…When I tested it (last year), the interface not complicated. That server might have probably removed the “google search” feature.

Exactly how do you bookmark google search if you cant put in the url for google?
@CLarose had to to this to make it work:
1- Bookmarkgoogle search.
2- type in the url in google search and click on the results….
@chikaladka Yes! We tested it on facebook, google serach, and a couple of other sites and it worked. Obviously,could notplay youtube videos.
I think this jailbreak will point the TV’s browser to kind of a third party internet TV server that redirects you request to the real internet….may be that server was down when you tested it…I exchanged the TV with another model a week after the test so I can not test it again at this moment.

This video is bullshit. You cant bookmark any website you want. Theres no way to put in a url…

Does anyone know how to activate the software keyboard mentined in the manual. Or how would I go to a certain URL?
Should have said DNS, but everything else is as it happened.
Just tried this many months after it was posted, but it didn’t work at all on my 60LE810UN Sharp TV. Managed to find the Ethernet area and changed both DSN connections and initialized, but it didn’t do anything at all. There was no place to put in a URL and the AQUOS network was in place, even tho’ I checked and my new DSN settings were still intact. I bought this last September and have never updated the machine — never at all connected it to the Internet before last night. Thanks, though.
Didn’t work on lc46le820un, might be because of the new firmware update. So guys, DON’T UPDATE. Or you’re screwed
So it looks like you have the dns set to primary: your server, secondary: openDNS namespace. I was thinking I could setup my own custom start page, what is the domain that the aquos.net start page looks for, if that is how you have done this.
