yes it is normal i have the exact same tv its just the backlight gets really warm and heat rises that’s why heat only comes out the top vents and the ones in the bottom are to help bring in cooler air. So you can be sure its normal go to the store and put your hand on a couple tvs you will find that they are all pretty warm.

yes. in my opinion it is worth it to get the higher end model. this is the best model abailable, the best of sonys technology is in that tv. i would def get the better model. dont get me wrong the w3000 is a great tv as well. but the xbr4 is the best. good luck

All rear projection tv bulbs get hot. Check to make sure you installed it properly and the bulb isn’t too close to the walls of the housing. New bulbs may smell for an hour or so but after that, they should be fine (but it doesn’t smell like plastic). Never touch the bulb with your bare hands ….. use a latex glove. Oil from your hands can make it crack.

Long story short, I picked SONY over Canon because I have had enough of Canon always taking forever to launch new products and charging hefty premiums for their reputation, marginally better image quality and popularity. Canon products are always playing catch up in innovation and technology (think wide lens, LCD resolution, focus speeds, back lit sensor, true HD movie and what not). The Sony WX9 captures very good video, both in bright and low light conditions. I am extremely pleased with this purchase and I am so glad I switched.(and I am the type who is very loyal to my brands) I love the panoramic (panning) capture feature. I could easily capture a full shot of the Yankee stadium (and still maintain on a 4 by 6 aspect ratio for Facebook uploading). It’s a very convenient feature, especially if you always felt that you camera was just never wide enough (even at 24 mm). I now have the option to shoot an “ultra wide” picture without the drawback of “fish eye” distortions. The portrait feature with background blurring is pretty neat too. It just gives me option to get more creative with my compositions. My Facebook friends are loving those shots. Normally you can only pull off this effect with a DSLR and a pro-sumer lens. But who caries a DSLR for dinner or party. The LCD screen is amazing too. It has one of the highest resolution in its class and it is very crisp and sharp. Of course, this camera has flaws too, and then quite a big one. The battery performance average at best. Its stamina is about half of what I am used too with a Canon camera. I resolved the issue by getting a second battery and charger which are readily available on Ebay. I reckon that shooting movies in HD requires more battery power. Sony like their camera to be as thin as possible and I guess that’s why all their line of camera have below average stamina. The trade-off is reasonable. Overall, I’m very happy with this product. I read amazing reviews on it but after having gone to see it in a shop, some of the assistants told me it was overrated, and overly-priced. I looked pretty good though. If you have considered this tv yourself or even have one please let me know what you think. I need a final push before making this investment.

i don;t know how much u paying for it but in that category u might want to consider is sharp lc42d62 1080p model that generally goes for $ 1799 its a 1080p model with 10000:1 contrast and opc. sony is 720p and 7000:1 contrast and no opc on sony

Sony question by Asley H: When trying to format my Sony memory stick I start the process and it says its unable to be done, what do i do?
I have Toshiba Laptop that is Windows Vista Home Premium and a Sony Camera with a Sony Memory Stick, it’s a Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo MSX-M2GS. When i click start ti format it, it says everything on the disk will be erased and I click ok, then it says:
Windows was unable to complete the format.

It doesn’t have the memory I need, but I have never had any problem with it in 9 years! It still works just fine. 3 years ago I decided to upgrade to a newer computer, and I bought an HP Pavilion laptop. Tired of not having enough memory and resources in my old Sony desktop, I went ahead and bought the laptop with the best and fastest CPU, RAM, hard drive, etc. then available. 00+ and 2 years later, I learned the hard way that the laptop was junk. The motherboard died and in order to replace it I had to spend over 0!! To my happy ending… I bought this Sony Vaio laptop for about 0 two months ago, and so far I’m very pleased with it. I learned the lesson: Stick with what you know. Sony question by jeancarlos2691: How do I upload a video from my digital sony cybershot camera (8.1 mgpx) to youtube?
I’ve recorded video on my sony cybershot digital camera and tired uploading them to youtube, but it’s not working. I have another KODAK camera and uploaded videos from there to youtube, but some how I’m unable to with sony.
I’m wondering if theres a different setting I should set the camera to, or maybe adjust something so that I’m able to upload videos onto youtube.

YouTube accepts a number of different file formats. I’m quite sure that Sony cameras use the Mpeg 1 video codec, but I’m not entirely sure if it’s a compatible format for Youtube. The Youtube help link (below) might offer you some more insight.

Also, make sure your video is no more than 10 minutes in length or no larger than 100MB in size. If it is larger than 100MB (which it easily could be), then you should use Moviemaker or another program to convert/resize it to a more acceptable size and/or format.
